Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare of the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from the fatal plague. He will shield you with his wings. He will shelter you with his feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor fear the dangers of the day, nor dread the plague that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Psalm 91: 1-7
No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your dwelling, for he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go. PSALM 91: 10-11
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. I will satisfy them with a long life and give them my salvation. PSALM 91: 14-16
About the Sanctuary
Don Duncan and his wife Ann have built an outdoor sanctuary behind their house in Poultney, Vermont, called the House of Angels. It’s a place for prayer, worship and healing, and many have felt peace and the presence of God during their visits to the sanctuary. Being healed of cancer, Don takes comfort from Psalms 91, and he is hopeful that others will find comfort as well, from this Biblical verse.
Don’s walk to Washington, DC
Don was supposed to receive 30 radiation treatments, and chemo for six months. But he quit the radiation after just two treatments; and, although he received a third chemo treatment, he refused further chemo as well, believing that he should turn his healing over to God. Three days after relying on God’s instruction, he was miraculously healed, and was amazed soon after to realize he had received a healing gift. Many healings have taken place at the sanctuary. The Angel Gabriel holds court at the sanctuary. Don created the stone base that holds a statue of the angel
Gabriel—one of only three angels who are mentioned by name in the Bible.

How It All Began
Construction of Christ’s House of Angels began in the spring of 2005, after Don was miraculously healed of his second bout with cancer. At that time, he decided to be obedient, and erect a cross in a woodsy area behind his home. Without major equipment, he worked on the site for over seven years, to create garden areas, stone walls, seating, and statuary. Ann made her own contribution to the site by creating a 500-pound cement statue of a lion. Several events have been held at the House of Angels,
including healing services, Christmas Caroling, Christian Concerts, hours of worship, annual Easter Services, and a camp-out. Don was ordained as a minister through the Living Waters Evangelistic Ministries. In 2015, Don was obedient once again, by embarking upon a journey—by foot—from the House of Angels to Washington, D.C. on July 29th. Calling it his “Heal America Walk” he carried a 5-foot wooden cross across several states, arriving in front of the Capitol Building
during the first week in September. You can see television and/or newspaper coverage of the Heal America Walk by Googling ‘Poultney man walks to Washington, D.C’. Don says that their Christian friends continue to find the House of Angels to be an extremely peaceful place to visit. He goes on to say, “May we find peace and beauty in the things of this Earth, but may we rest in the promises of Jesus Christ.”
